After finishing her master’s degree in public health at Emory University, Shafila Rahman served as a Patient Care Coordinator at Emory Brain Health, which treats various sleep issues. Shafila Rahman oversaw patient interactions, scheduled appointments with respiratory therapists, and organized care for sleep studies.
Additionally, Shafila Rahman helped patients navigate their insurance to ensure they have a smooth and positive experience. She became adept at understanding and explaining to patients their insurance policy coverage and the processes related to medical services, which has enabled her to become an effective advocate for both patients and healthcare providers.
In 2024, Northeast Georgia Medical Center hired Ms. Rahman as a Patient Transport Supervisor. She managed the patient transport team’s daily operations, ensuring that patients moved within the healthcare center safely and promptly. Ms. Rahman trained transport staff on procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation, and continuously monitored the performance of team members as part of the quality assurance process.
Outside of her master’s degree in public health, Ms. Rahman earned a degree in business administration from Georgia Gwinnett College.
